Hi, my name is Jackson, I am 10 years old and I use Genteel. So I've used 4 pokers over the 4 years that I have had diabetes. It'll be 5 this year. They all say that they don't hurt, especially this one. They say it's supposed to be pain-free even on the lowest setting... But it's not at all. So these are all supposed to be pain-free, but it still hurts. Once we ordered our Genteel and got it, it didn't hurt at all. And I kept trying because it said that I can do it in a bunch of different places. Like it says that you can do it on the chest, upper arms, stomach, forearms, fingers, palms, thighs, hips and calves. So I was trying all over my body to see if it really didn't hurt in every spot and it doesn't hurt. Mom: What's your favorite one? Umm... Right here. Like on my knee.
Mom: So where are you going to show us?
I'm going to show you on my knee.
Mom: Now we know I think the information says it's about 20 minutes difference, from where your hand and palm are. So as long as your doctor says that's okay, which Jackson's doctor is fine with that. Did you put a test strip in?
No. So I've got my blood. And the cool thing about this is that if you don't get enough blood what you can do is you can open this... Pull this out, do this... and go like this. So say this wasn't enough blood for my strip, I can go like that and it doesn't even poke me. Even though you don't feel it, it doesn't even poke. It just suctions it up, and see I've got more blood. So now I can just go and check my blood sugar. And I'm 238, so that's okay. I have to bolus. But yeah, this works a lot. If you can I recommend that you get it. Thanks for watching! Bye!
Mom: Alright, so mom is going to show a couple other things that we got with it. So in the kit it comes with an ID card and a place to store all of your stuff. I usually keep a little glucose pouch in here too, for lows. You can stick stickers on the pouch, which I didn't think the stickers would actually stay. But they do. You get a sheet of stickers, he decorated his device. We also got the thing of tips, and Jackson likes the green. These don't usually come with it, but we also got this. These are glow in the dark tips, which are really nice for at night time. He used to not ever let me check him in the night. He always would wake up at the slightest touch. Now he actually lets me check him at night without that tension, because he knows it's not going to hurt. We have the extra tip, all the other stuff that comes with the kit. This has really changed our life. He has gone from a boy who dreaded, begged, and pleaded not to have to check his blood sugar, to a boy who it's not a big deal. It's just part of life and this has really made part of life having diabetes just so much more manageable. I just really want to thank you guys at Genteel. Thanks.
